2025 Wedding Hair and Makeup Trends: Natural, Effortless Beauty for the Modern Bride

Looking ahead to 2025 wedding beauty and I’m beaming with joy to see we’re still embracing natural, effortless elegance. Perfectly suited to my lovely brides, who want to look like their best selves on the their wedding day. More and more brides are wanting that minimalist look, highlighting their natural features, rather than masking them. YAY! This is my area as I specialise in natural, barely there makeup and effortless, wedding hairstyles. So I’m a happy bunny. Lets watch how these trends unfold in the coming year…

Soft, delicate waves

  1. Natural, glowing skin with a subtle blush

More and more we are seeing luminous, natural looking skin. We’re talking minimal coverage, glow in the right places and a pretty, healthy flush. Cream and liquid blushers are called in, for this gorgeous natural makeup look. Naturally, they impart a beautiful glow to the cheeks. Anyone else want that ‘lit-from-withn’ glow? YES PLEASE!

Tip - This calls for lovely hydrated skin, so up your serum and hydrating mask usage before your wedding day.

2. Effortless hair with texture

Bridal hairstyles in 2025 are going to be screaming effortless and whimsical. Soft waves and ‘undone updo’s’ pair perfectly with the minimalist makeup look. Embrace your natural hair texture and lean into your natural waves and curls, instead of fighting it.

Tip - Using lighter products ensures your hair has that ‘real hair’ soft feel. Don’t overload with hairspray. Texture sprays help rock that effortless bridal look.

3. Barely-there makeup and defined features

Although for a natural makeup look we keep it looking minimal, that doesn’t mean we skip it all together. Its about adding subtle definition, soft smudged lines and neutral eyeshadows. Mascara added lightly and brows gently defined. For lips we add a sheer wash of colour. Bring on the tinted balms and oils! (my FAVOURITE!).

Tip - Avoid heavy contours and stick to neutral tones. You want to feel put together but still you.

4. Sustainability and cruelty-free beauty

Fortunately, this is becoming increasingly important to brides in the UK and I’m here for it. Choosing cruelty-free beauty products and becoming more conscious of the environmental impact of our beauty choices should be on all of our minds. Brands that focus on using natural ingredients are on the rise, as we’re increasingly conscious of what we put onto our delicate skin.

Tip - Choose high performing brands that don’t compromise on ethics or quality. Check where they sell their products and that they’re not tested on animals by a third-party

5. Soft, romantic updos

If you’re a bride who prefers to wear their hair up, but want it to look soft and romantic, then you’re in luck. This trend is for you. Hair is looser and more relaxed, maybe add some twists and braids. It has an un-done feel.

Tip - Add small hair accessories, such as some flowers, a hair pin or delicate ribbon.

Brides that typically wear little to no makeup, these trends are perfect for you. Embrace your natural beauty and let your skin shine through. As a hair and makeup artist in the UK who specialises in this style of bridal hair and makeup, I’d be thrilled to help make this bridal dream a reality for you!
